The Internal Force Summation Tool for Slabs

RISAFloor Concrete Floor Slabs allow you to model a Semi-Rigid diaphragm. As the model integrates with RISA-3D, the Semi-Rigid diaphragm is created with a sub-mesh of plate elements.   This new Internal Force Summation Tool for Slabs allows you to click point to point within the slab and will only sum forces between these two points.

The previous IFST is still available, but the new IFST Slab tool is located on the left side of the screen as well.

IFST Slab 1

Let’s take a look at how the IFST Slab works. Below is a model where we are interested in the forces in the slab (you must run either a batch or single solution).   Once you click on the IFST Slab the slab plate mesh will automatically be displayed.  Click two points to designate the cutting line. Snap points include nodes and mesh points within the slab.

This will bring up the force summation dialog box. Remember the summation is only between Points A and B. The axes labeled 1, 2, and 3 correspond to the clicked points A and B.
