Software Quality Assurance Structural Engineer [ON-SITE]

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for the technical testing of the full product suite for RISA and ADAPT. This position is a key member of the RISA team providing quality assurance for the software.

The right candidate will have experience in structural engineering and software quality assurance. The training for this position will work collaboratively with the Technical Support team to learn the software from all angles.

Job Duties

As a member of our team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure a quality software package that will meet the customer satisfaction at the release of the software and intermediate checkpoints along the development cycle
  • Perform thorough tests on the software new and existing features including input, output and program functionality. Document all issues using the product development tools
  • Work with the Product engineers to understand the software requirements and capabilities
  • Willing to work with customers via telephone, and email gathering information to understand their software usage
  • Providing hand calculations to validate the software
  • Work with the Quality manager to develop new testing strategies, design test plans, scenarios and procedures based on the typical usage of the Structural Engineer
  • Review software and industry requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide a sanity check to the software output
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in structural engineering and software testing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 2+ years structural design engineering experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with software functional testing
  • Experience with black box testing techniques
  • Experience with test planning and test case development
  • Experience with the windows environment including installing new software, windows files and folders structure, file extensions, windows DLL, windows services, windows registry
  • Experience with software quality assurance methodologies
  • Experience with defect management systems
