You may have noticed an additional option under the Solution Choices dialog box when a Batch Solution of Marked Combinations option is selected. The Include an Envelope with the Batch checkbox will allow you to view either envelope results or batch results for your model at the click of a button without running two separate solutions. This allows you to view the controlling load combination given with an envelope solution but to also investigate that particular load combination in detail given by a batch solution.
When the Envelope (Only) of Marked Combinations option is selected for a model that contains multiple load combinations, the results are enveloped to show only the minimum and maximum results. If the Batch Solution of Marked Combinations option is selected with the Include an Envelope with the Batch checkbox not checked, the results will be displayed for each load combination.
However, with the Batch Solution of Marked Combinations option selected and the Include an Envelope with the Batch selection is checked, an envelope and batch solution will both be available.
Once you have this option selected, click Solve. When the model finishes the analysis, your results will be available in the Results toolbar.
If you are interested in the joint reactions for example, click once on the Joint Reactions spreadsheet in the toolbar to view the Envelope Joint Reactions:
Click on the Joint Reactions spreadsheet under the Results toolbar a second time to view the batch results for each solved load combination:
This will be a similar process for all Results spreadsheets to view both the envelope and batch results within a single solution.
You also have the ability to display the envelope reactions in the Plot Options dialog box under the Joints tab. The controlling max and min reactions for all solved combinations will be shown graphically. The Combination to Use For Results Display will be ignored.
Under the Members tab, the Envelope option exists here to display the envelope results graphically. The Combination to Use For Results Display will again be ignored.
