The Long Term Deflection Settings window allows you to set up the criteria used to determine load factors applied to long-term combinations in the load combination window when the option to calculate the long-term factors is invoked. These settings are commonly used to combine the results of multiple Cracked Deflection combinations, to produce long-term predicted deflections.
The criteria used to calculate the factors for the long-term combinations are determined by the Calculation Method you choose.
When Detailed Calculations (ACI 209) is chosen as the Calculation Method, you define creep and shrinkage factors, along with the curing type and duration.
Using this method the program will calculate the load combination factors based on the Detailed Calculations (ACI 209) criteria, as well as Age at loading and Observation day criteria, entered in the load combination window when creating the long-term load combination.
When ACI Multiplier Method is chosen as the Calculation Method, only a long-term multiplier needs to be defined.
Using this method the program will interpolate the load combination factors based on the ACI time-dependent deflection curve (ACI 318-19, Fig. R24.2.4.1), as well as Age at loading and Observation day criteria, entered in the load combination window when creating the long-term load combination.
