Description
The RISA-3D Advanced Topics Course is a 5-hour, interactive training focused on developing a more in-depth knowledge in RISA-3D, with individual sessions used to broaden engineers skills and understanding of 3D modeling, design and problem solving. Example models and learning objectives will be targeted to specific features, while mixing in useful tips and tricks that can lead to elevated efficiency when using RISA-3D. This course, spread out over 2-days (with optional, office hour sessions) is geared toward users who have completed the RISA-3D Quick Start Course or have at least a basic knowledge of the software and are interested in learning more about RISA-3D, with a goal of becoming more efficient and confident in their designs.
Specific topics to be covered include:
- Advanced Modeling & Interface Tools (saved views, modification/spreadsheet tools, selection tools, interface customization, filtering)
- Understanding P-Delta Analysis & Instabilities
- Evaluating Moving Loads
- Section Sets and Member Re-Design
- Report Generation
- General Model Troubleshooting

The RISA-3D Advanced Topics Course is a hands on, learn by doing class aimed at helping experienced users understand and succeed using advanced features and functionality of RISA-3D.
Yes, participants will be asked to install the software and have completed the RISA-3D Tutorial prior to attending the course. It is also recommended that attendees have completed the RISA-3D Quick Start Course or have adequate knowledge/experience in RISA-3D. RISA will send an email after registration with installation instructions as well as information on the tutorial.
No, participants will be issued a 7-day license of the software to begin one-day prior to the start of the course.
The course will be conducted via zoom and all registered participants will have access to the Online Event Page which includes the zoom meeting link as well as the zoom meeting passcode. This unique meeting link and passcode will be used for the duration of the course.
All registered attendees will receive a certificate of completion worth 4 PDH credits. The certificate will list the name you registered with and be emailed to the email address you used when you registered within 7 days following the event. We currently do not support group registrations or group certificates.
As long as you request a cancellation at least seven days prior to the course, a refund can be issued to you. Please note, no refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than seven days prior to the date of the session. Contact info@risa.com to request a refund.
