Description

The Advanced Topics Course is a 5-hour, interactive course focused on analyzing single- and multi-level structures within ADAPT-Builder, including Load Takedown and Live Load Reduction. The course will provide expert instruction and example models to increase users knowledge of the analysis functionality of ADAPT-Builder, as well as advanced techniques for making sure a model is running smoothly. Spread out over 2-days (with optional, office hour sessions) the course is geared toward advanced users who are interested in learning more about ADAPT-Builder, with a goal of becoming more efficient and confident in their designs.

Specific topics to be covered include:

  • Multi-Level Analysis
  • Load Takedown
  • Live Load Reduction for Columns & Transfer Slabs
  • Application of Lateral Loading
  • Meshing, Mesh Refinement and Node Shifting
  • Troubleshooting Instabilities
  • Establishing Usage Cases & Stiffness Modifiers
  • Applying global results in single-level mode
  • Analysis of Mat Foundation

The ADAPT-Builder Advanced Topics Course is a hands on, learn by doing class aimed at helping experienced users understand and succeed using advanced features and functionality of ADAPT-Builder.

Yes, participants will be asked to install the software and complete the ADAPT-Builder Single Story Tutorial prior to attending the course. It is also recommended that attendees have completed the ADAPT-Builder Quick Start Course or have adequate knowledge/experience in ADAPT-Builder. RISA will send an email after registration with installation instructions as well as information on the tutorial.

No, participants will be issued a 7-day license of the software to begin one-day prior to the start of the course.

The course will be conducted via zoom and all registered participants will have access to the Online Event Page which includes the zoom meeting link as well as the zoom meeting passcode. This unique meeting link and passcode will be used for the duration of the course.

All registered attendees will receive a certificate of completion worth 4 PDH credits. The certificate will list the name you registered with and be emailed to the email address you used when you registered within 7 days following the event. We currently do not support group registrations or group certificates.

As long as you request a cancellation at least seven days prior to the course, a refund can be issued to you. Please note, no refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than seven days prior to the date of the session. Contact info@risa.com to request a refund.
