Work with the Load Combination Generator

To work with the LC Generator:

1. Make sure that you have building lateral loads defined in your model.

2. Open the Loading ribbon.

   

3. Click the Load Combinations icon in the Load Case/Combo panel.

   The Combinations window initially populates with gravity combinations based on the design code chosen in the 'Criteria', 'Design Code' window.

   In the example below we chose the ACI2014 code.

   

4. Make changes to the load combinations as necessary, if you haven't done so already following the Load Combinations instructions.

5. Click the LC Generator button.

   The LC Generator window opens.

   

   By default, all options are checked. This means that the load combinations will be based on all the options.

6. Make sure that all option you want are checked, and all you do not want are not checked.

   In our example, we only wanted the SLS and Wind Load Options - Reversible checkboxes checked.

   

7. Click Add.

   The program populates the load combination list with combinations similar to those shown in the following image.
