Who is eligible to Educational Student User licensing?

Educational licensing is available to Education Users and/or Qualified Educational Institutions as defined in the RISA Educational Licensing - Program Description and Additional Terms including:

  • Employee of Educational Institution
    Enrolled Student at Educational Institution

  • Participating student, faculty or sponsor for approved design competition

  • All licensing may be used only for purposes directly related to learning, training, and research. They may not be used for commercial, professional, or any other for-profit purposes.

How does the licensing work?

The cloud licensing available to educational institutions functions similar to a traditional server or local network license. These accounts have a set number of available "seats" and can have as many users assigned to the account as desired and a user occupies a seat of software when the product is in use. The software can be downloaded and installed on as many computers as is required and licenses are not specifically assigned to any user.

How do I manage (add or remove) users on my account?

Users are managed directly through the RISA Customer Portal. Students should be added to the account using the role "engineer" giving them access to download and use the software. Admin users have the ability to add/remove users from the account. For more information about using the Customer Portal for Educational Licensing, check out this video.

Can you get RISA free as a student?

Access to RISA software products is also available for students for individual use. This licensing is free of charge and is available to all eligible students. To see if you qualify, please review the RISA Educational Licensing - Program Description and Additional Terms. To learn more and apply for student licensing, visit link.

Where can I get training?

Training resources are available in the RISA Learning Center. Resources include free step-by-step tutorials as well as paid virtual courses. Purchasing paid courses requires use of a non-EDU email address. Additional videos and technical articles are also available to help answer your specific questions.
