View Ribbon

The View ribbon offers various tools to change the model view, display of loads and results, and active windows.

The following table provides a short description of each tool.

View - Icons

Project Grid

Allows you to toggle the display of the Project Grid.

Create new project gridlines from the Home tab. Modify existing project gridlines using the Project Grid spreadsheet. For more information, see Project Grid.

3D View

Tools for snapping your model to a specific view.

Isometric

Allows you to snap your model to an isometric view.

Plan

Allows you to snap your model to an XZ planar view.

View Settings

These tools let you specify how to plot nodes, beams, footings, piles, slabs, loads and the information that is to accompany them.

Model

Allows you to select global model display settings.

Select display settings for the model display using dialog selection options. Customize the display settings for beams, spread footings, wall footings, piles, slabs and design strips. For more information, see Graphics - Model View Settings.

Results

Allows you to select result display settings.

Select how to display the results for beams, spread footings, wall footings, piles, slabs and design strips. In addition, the display of reactions or deflections can be adjusted. For more information, see Graphics - Results View Settings.

Animate

Animation Results

Allows you to view an animation of the model's deflected shape.

A new model view window will open, displaying a video animation of the model's behavior. For more information, see Animate Results.

Zoom

Zoom Extents

Allows you to reset the view to display the full model. For more information, see Zoom Extent Tool .

Zoom In

Allows you to zoom the view in for a closer view of the model.

Each time the Zoom In icon is clicked, the model view will be magnified. For more information, see Zoom In Tool.

Zoom Out

Allows you to zoom the view out for a wider view of the model.

Each time the Zoom Out icon is clicked, the model view expand. For more information, see Zoom Out Tool.

Zoom Box

Allows you to zoom in on a specific area of the view using a box selection.

Select an area to zoom into using a box selection tool. Click on one point and hold your mouse button down as you drag down to the opposite corner of the box. Once you lift up the mouse button, your area will be selected and the view zoomed in. For more information, see Zoom Box Tool.

Miscellaneous

Image Capture

Allows you to capture and save an image of the current graphical view.

Create custom snapshot images that can be added to a printed report. For more information, see Capture a Custom Snapshot.

Saved Views

Allows you to save or recall a model view.

Save or recall specific selection states for a model view. For more information, see Save / Retrieve a Model.

Window

Open 3D View

Allows you to open or add a new 3D View.

Add a new 3D View window or choose from a list of any other 3D View window that is open. For more information, see Open a New 3D View.
